Phil Baranowski

Phil Baranowski is a retired educator who served 36 years in the K-12 system in Wisconsin, as a teacher, coach, guidance counselor and 21 years as a District Administrator. While serving as guidance counselor he became aware of the value of vocational-technical education as an option for high school graduates and returning adult learners and has since been a forceful advocate of the Technical College System.

He was appointed to the Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) Board in July 1979 and served until 2011. In 1993 he was chosen to represent MPTC on an Insurance Consortium which reorganized as The WTC Insurance Trust in 1997, with Phil serving as Chair from 1997-2011.

Mr. Baranowski received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Oshkosh State Teachers’ College and a Master’s Degree in Education from Arizona State University. He also completed graduate studies at UW-Madison, UW-Stout, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stevens Point and the University of Louisville.

Phil currently serves on the Green Lake County Economic Development Corp., the Green Lake City Plan Commission, the Green Lake Public Schools Foundation and as Trustee/Treasurer of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Ripon.
