Bethanie Dodd, Blackhawk Technical College, Nursing
I chose Blackhawk Technical College over a four-year university because it was more cost efficient for my needs and the needs of my family. I also knew that a technical college would offer me more opportunities to get hands-on experience in my field of study. Instead of large lecture halls, I experienced smaller classrooms which enabled me to create lasting relationships with my fellow students.
McKenzie Kruse, Chippewa Valley Technical College, Radiography
Due to the close proximity and affordability that the Chippewa Valley Technical College offered, I decided to enroll in the Radiography program with a plan to transfer to an accelerated bachelor’s program. CVTC provides many unique opportunities to their students, such as attending the WTCS Leadership Conference, which was very appealing to me.
Shannon Schultz, Fox Valley Technical College, Forensic Science
I chose to attend Fox Valley Technical College for several reasons. I had some success in the late 1990’s with classes at FVTC and I really enjoyed that experience. When I decided to go back to school in 2013, FVTC was the first choice that came to mind. FVTC is a local school and the curriculum was consistent with what I was looking for to grow professionally.
Ryan Bognar, Gateway Technical College, Marketing
I enrolled in Gateway Technical College because not only is it affordable, but it gives me the opportunity to learn within a small class environment. My education here consistently helps me achieve my goals and has given my future endless possibilities. My campus is close to home and I enjoy all of my classes, teachers, and classmates.
Wesley Pautz, Lakeshore Technical College, Fire Medic
Originally, I wanted to pursue a career in nursing, but changed my goal to becoming a Fire Fighter Paramedic. I attended public and private four-year colleges, but felt something was missing from the experience. A friend was attending LTC and encouraged me to give it a try. I’ve never looked back – I love the hands-on learning I get at LTC!
Dominique Diamante, Madison College, Liberal Arts
I enrolled in Madison College because it was the best choice for me. I wasn’t absolutely sure what I wanted to do right away after I graduated high school but I knew that I wanted to explore my options. Madison Area Technical College seemed like a good way for me to save money while also experiencing new things and staying sharp. The diversity among students and staff was very appealing and I knew that I would feel comfortable and have no trouble fitting in.
Brandon Roberson, Mid-State Technical College, Business Management / Accounting
I chose Mid-State Technical College because it was affordable, it was close to my home and my children’s school. Also I liked the fact that the teachers have hands-on experience in the fields they are teaching. Everyone was so nice and helpful from the first phone call through now, and I feel that will continue in the future.
Christopher Kerby, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Registered Nursing
I chose to attend Milwaukee Area Technical College because it offered me a chance to pursue my passion in nursing. MATC has offered the best educational experience I have ever had with its phenomenal and dedicated teachers and application-based curriculum.
Christine Gil, Moraine Park Technical College, Human Resources
I chose to enroll in Moraine Park Technical College because I liked the idea of getting an associate’s degree in two years. Attending Moraine Park has allowed me to take classes that are hands on and relevant to the Human Resources field.
Zachariah Farris, Nicolet College, Early Childhood Education
I enrolled in Nicolet Technical College with the desire to work with children and families. I always dreamed of making a difference in people’s lives and NTC was able to turn on enough lights for me to see a clear path to reaching my goal of making a difference.
Dara Okon, Northcentral Technical College, Nursing
After graduating high school, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to receive my degree. I enrolled at Northcentral Technical College because I heard it had a good nursing program and because it was close to home. I wanted a school that centered on the needs of its students and would challenge them to become a leader beyond the classroom.
Betsy Burmeister, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Supply Chain Management
Family and later relocating to a different state took me on another path, although returning to Wisconsin and NWTC for my Associate’s has reaped many personal and professional rewards. The tools NWTC offers, including an excellent staff supporting me wholly along the way, make NWTC my preferred college to establish goals, and more importantly, attain them.
Jaren Knight, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, Accounting
I enrolled in SWTC because I knew it would provide me great opportunities to benefit my future. SWTC is very close to my home and allows me to spend time with my family. A former State Ambassador at SWTC told me how amazing SWTC was. I knew that a Bachelor’s Degree would be more affordable in the future if I chose to complete an Associate degree program first.
Moriah Hill, Waukesha County Technical College, Interior Design/Architect
I chose WCTC for many reasons. I was impressed by the reasonably priced tuition costs which was important to me. I also really liked the opportunity for dual programs which I am currently a part of, and liked the idea of having smaller class sizes.
Amanda Coughlin, Western Technical College, IT Computer Support Specialist
I wanted the hands on experience and personal connection to my instructors. The smaller class sizes and the ability to build personal relationships was important to me. I didn’t finish high school in a traditional way (I finished my HSED at Western), so I wanted to be in an environment that was comfortable, and where I knew I could be successful.
Andrew Pluteau, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, Information Technology
I wanted to learn valuable skills that I could use immediately upon graduation. I also wanted to have the option to join the workforce immediately or continue my education. With a technical college like WITC, I have learned those skills and given myself options that I didn’t have before.
