Pharmacy Technician - Community Programs

The Community Pharmacy Technician program is designed to prepare students to assist the pharmacist in preparation of drug products and prescriptions to be dispensed to the general public. This program is directed toward providing students with the skills and knowledge needed to obtain employment in either community or outpatient hospital pharmacies. Community pharmacy technicians perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, preparation of prescriptions, all types of record-keeping, inventory control, cash and credit transactions, and third-party claims. Emphasis is placed on communications and customer relations in this health care occupation.
