Waupun Memorial Hospital Donates $10,000 To MPTC

The Moraine Park Foundation has received a donation of $10,000 from Waupun Memorial Hospital, a member of Agnesian HealthCare, to purchase 44 Portable Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Jump Bags. This equipment will be used as an additional learning tool for the College’s Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), and Paramedic program students. 

Celebrating Women's History Month: women pursue careers in welding at NWTC

Sarah Fischer, welding instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, says Women's History Month is a time to reflect. "There were a lot of women welders in World War II," she said. "The fact that not too many people even know about that, I think this month, it always seems we reflect and look in the past to see where we can get to in the future.”

Mid-State Technical College students have again earned top awards in the Workplace Skills Assessment Program (WSAP) Competitive Events at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Wisconsin State Leadership Conference held in Wausau, Feb. 25–26. Mid-State Business Technology Instructor and BPA chapter advisor Sharon Behrens was also named statewide advisor of the year at the event.

Nicolet College teacher named firefighter instructor of the year

When the pandemic hit early last year and Nicolet College moved all classes to the virtual world, fire training instructor Mike Carlin had more than two dozen students just weeks away from finishing their in-person classes and becoming certified fire fighters.
