WCTC hosts online MLK Day program

At the recent city-county Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award ceremony, Madison College student Shyra Adams received the Emerging Leader Award.

Agribusiness is booming in central Wisconsin, and Mid-State Technical College is meeting the demand for trained professionals in the industry with a new Agribusiness Agronomy Technician program launching in fall 2021 and available at the Adams, Marshfield and  Stevens Point campuses. 

Mohammed Bey heads diversity, equity, and inclusion at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, a role he has held since 2014 — first as director and now as chief officer. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marian University in Fond du Lac, he has also held diversity, equity and inclusion roles at Quinnipiac University and UW-Oshkosh.

Dr. Melanie Gray has distinguished herself in the Milwaukee community as a premiere educator and champion for excellence in nursing. Born and raised in Milwaukee’s 53206 zip code, Gray was a first-generation college student who has earned a master’s degree in nursing education and a Ph.D. in e-learning.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) Student Nursing Association is bringing joy to children and teens spending their holidays in Green Bay hospitals.

Businesses and entrepreneurs in Wisconsin’s Northwoods have a new go-to source of support. Just a few months after its official launch, the GRID—which stands for Guiding Rural Innovation and Development—is already succeeding at its mission to be the place business owners and startups can reach out to for connections and solutions.

While taking a hiatus from in-person community education programming after COVID-19 hit last spring, Lakeshore Technical College retooled its offerings. 

When students return for the spring semester at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, they will have the opportunity to celebrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Week. This is the third annual weeklong event, scheduled in conjunction with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 18.

Gateway Technical College has named Gregory Bennett Jr. and Seeds of Hope this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarians to recognize them for their contributions to society, their school, business, or profession, as well as their dedication to volunteerism and philanthropic work.
