When I decided to return to school, I lived on a highly budgeted income as I supported my children independently. I understood that earning a degree would entail repaying any loans.
Throughout the years, I’ve connected with people who either attended or taught at a technical college, so I sought their insight and did some of my own exploration. My research revealed that technical colleges offer greater flexibility and affordability for associate degree programs. Additionally, the smaller community and campus size appealed to me. I also realized I could always continue my education at a university if I so chose.
My most suitable options were a more personalized learning environment, a tighter-knit community, more affordable programs, and a positive atmosphere of a technical college. Its close distance to home and convenient location further solidified my choice.
