Diesel Truck Technician Programs

Do you have good problem-solving skills and a talent for working with mechanical systems? The trucking industry is strong, which means the need for skilled technicians is also strong. CVTC offers a Diesel Truck Technician two-year technical diploma program. This program will prepare you to inspect, analyze, and repair heavy-duty trucks and equipment. You will receive hands-on training in truck repair.

The program will teach you how to diagnose and repair:

  • Diesel engines
  • Suspension and steering
  • Brakes
  • Electrical/electronic systems
  • Drive train
  • Heating
  • Air conditioning systems
  • Preventive maintenance inspection

CVTC instructors are Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified Heavy Duty Truck Technicians with many years of trade and teaching experience.

Through the program, you will obtain the following DOT certifications:

  • 396.25 Brake Inspector
  • 396.19 Vehicle Inspector
  • Federal 609 Air Conditioning Certification
  • Class A CDL

Many employers require National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF)/Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Department of Transportation certification. CVTC helps you meet those requirements, giving you an edge when it comes time to start your career.
