Wisconsin Technical College Intensive English Program for International Students Programs
The Intensive English Program (IEP) at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) is designed to equip students with the academic language skills required for success in college-level coursework. This comprehensive program offers two levels of instruction—Intermediate and Advanced—with students attending 4 hours of daily classes focusing on Listening/Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Grammar. Additional resources include access to a language lab for independent study and practice in the afternoons.
Key Benefits of NWTC’s IEP:
- College-Integrated Environment: Students benefit from a supportive academic setting with access to student services designed to enhance success.
- Academic Preparedness: The program builds the language skills essential for excelling in college-level courses.
- Smooth Transition to College: Students acclimate to the U.S. college experience before enrolling in full-time programs, easing their path to post-secondary education at NWTC or other colleges and universities in the U.S.
- Affordability: The IEP offers twice the instruction for the cost compared to other U.S. Intensive English Programs.
Summer Academy
Advanced-level students can also participate in a six-week Summer Academy featuring an integrated curriculum. This program prepares students for the academic rigor of college courses starting in the Fall.
The program is led by experienced instructors who bring a wealth of knowledge, having lived and taught extensively in various countries.
