Mid-State Technical College Accounting Instructor Susan Strautmann was recently appointed Secretary of Office to the Wisconsin Accounting Examining Board. News of the appointment came as the College learned of a new bill signed into law allowing Mid-State and other two-year college credits to count toward CPA licensure.

Nicolet College trustees announce Kate Ferrel as next president

The Nicolet College Board of Trustees has announced that Kate Ferrel has accepted the position of president of the college. Ferrel, who currently serves as executive vice president of Academic and Student Affairs at Nicolet, will begin her duties as president July 1.

WITC, partners to host GED Boot Camp

The Quick Coupling Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has partnered with Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC), and Workforce Resource to host a GED Boot Camp at Parker's Chetek plant to help expand career opportunities for local area residents.

Haas Foundation contributes $500,000 to Gateway Technical College

The Gene Haas Foundation has committed $500,000 to the Gateway Technical College Foundation to support the college’s Promise 2 Finish program, an effort to help students who left college to return and earn a degree by filling the gap between financial aid and tuition costs.

English Language Learners Program Opening Doors at BTC

Brianna Deering has been in the education field for over twenty-five years, beginning in elementary education and later transitioning to higher ed. She enjoys the opportunity to motivate students to learn and to achieve their educational and career goals. Her current role at Blackhawk Technical College is teaching English Language Learners. The ELL program requires Brianna to assist with recruiting, registering, testing, and placement of students, and instruction at all levels.
