I chose to come to Western because I knew I would receive the support needed as an individual with a learning disability. The small class sizes, individualized attention from instructors and individualized support plans from Western’s Access Services have all helped accommodate my learning styles and move me toward success both in and out of the classroom. I am motivated to finish my degree so that I can move into the workforce and support myself and my family. Through counseling and other resources on Western’s campus, I have gained plenty of confidence in myself and my abilities; I know that my disability will not stop me from achieving my dreams.
