In May 2020, G.I. Jobs released a list of top Military Friendly® schools in the nation and ranked Madison College third in the "Large Community Colleges" category. It is the highest ranking of any Wisconsin college or university.
Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community. This list is the longest-running and most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students.
More than 600 student veterans attend Madison College. In addition to financial benefits for veterans and their spouses, dependents and survivors, the college provides a social support network as well.
When campus is open, the Veterans Lounge serves as a safe space where student veterans can relax and gain access to resources. In addition to free coffee, TV, and computer access, the lounge is staffed by student veterans to ensure outstanding peer support.
Veterans services are offered mostly online due to COVID-19, but with in-person appointments granted as needed.
